Ho-sup Shim is currently a professor of pre-medical course at Dankook University College of Medicine since 2001.

He attended Seoul National University with a BS in industrial chemistry and then did his Ph.D in polymer chemistry at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 1983.

He received his DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine), MS in animal reproduction and transgenesis from the same university in 1987, and Ph.D in physiology at the University of California (UC) at Davis in 1996.

Following his graduation, he worked for two years in Embryo Transfer Laboratory at UC Davis.

His areas of research interests include isolation and differentiation of embryonic/induced pluripotent stem cells, as well as production of transgenic/knockout animals.
